Bishop's Statement

Bishop BarbaritoFCCUSCCB
"We have received confirmation by the State Attorney’s Office that Father Francis Guinan has been arrested. Because of the ongoing nature of the criminal investigation, there is no further comment beyond Bishop Barbarito’s original statement made on September 28, 2006 regarding the charges against both Fathers Guinan and Skehan. To reiterate, Fr. Francis Guinan and Fr. John Skehan both remain on administrative leave and do not have permission to exercise publicly their priestly ministry. Upon conclusion of the criminal process, the canonical status of both priests will be reviewed. The Bishop asks for your continued prayers for the parish communities of St. Vincent Ferrer and St. Patrick’s, for the diocese, as well as for Fathers Guinan and Skehan."
