Elder Affairs

2012 Banquet honoring Sen. Philip D. Lewis

The Elder Affairs Program provides compassionate, comprehensive guardianship and case management services to those in need, emphasizing the concerns of the economically disadvantaged and those without adequate community support. The staff assists in

  • Assessment of client needs when faced with life decisions

  • Preparation of personalized care plan

  • Bill payment and budget planning

  • Assistance with nursing home admissions

  • Securing medical/hospital admissions

  • Facilitating Medicaid and veteran applications

  • Continual monitoring to assure clients physical/emotional well-being.

Individuals 65 years and older who are at risk physically, mentally, emotionally, financially and/or spiritually are eligible.

Guardianship Training Program

A course of study approved by the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court and provided to guardians appointed in Palm Beach County to ensure that they understand their legal duties to both their ward and the court. Successful completion of this training course is required within four (4) months after appointment as guardian.
