LUMEN CHRISTI GALA FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION
“Growing in the Light of Christ” is the vision for Catholic
education within the Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach and was the
theme for the 17th annual Lumen Christi gala held at the Breakers
Hotel December 2, 2005.
This year a multitude of benefactors turned out for a 200
dollar-a-plate black tie affair in support of Catholic education.
Hosted by honorary Chairpersons the Most Reverend Bishop Gerald M.
Barbarito and Reverend Francis J. Lechiara along with chairpersons
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cutaia, over 400 guests enjoyed dinner, dancing
and the entertainment of City Lights.
The
Diocese of Palm Beach provides Catholic education in 17 elementary
schools and three high schools, in addition to helping finance
numerous parish-based projects. Funding from the diocese assists
programs, in particular, for the needy, the disadvantaged and the
immigrant populations. Many of these efforts cannot be funded from
other sources.
The
continued outpouring of financial support for Catholic education has
enhanced the lives of so many of our Catholic youth. This gala is a
sign of faith in action serving the development of the next Catholic
generation.
Don’t miss next year’s gala! For details on next year’s event or for
