St. Joan of
Arc School named
Blue Ribbon School
Dedication ceremony with Bishop Barbarito
set for Wednesday, Feb. 15
BOCA RATON - St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in Boca Raton was named
by the U.S. Department of Education as a “No Child Left Behind-Blue
Ribbon School”. Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of the
five-county Diocese of Palm Beach, will visit the school on
Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2005, to celebrate this momentous occasion with
the students, faculty, and school community. He will also be on hand
to bless and dedicate the school’s sports arena and playground. The
day will begin with a coffee and donut reception at 9:30 a.m. in the
Our Lady of Mercy Center, followed by the blessing ceremony at 10
a.m.
Sister Ellen Murphy, RSM, principal, and Sister Josephine Sullivan,
RSM, recently traveled to Washington D.C. to accept the Blue Ribbon
Award, which was presented to them by Kevin F. Sullivan, Assistant
Secretary in the Office of Communications and Outreach at the U.S.
Department of Education.
