Bishop Issues Dispensation for Catholics for Saint Patrick's Day
Friday March 17th
(March 11, 2006) Palm Beach Gardens, FL Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito
has granted a general dispensation for all Catholics in our diocese
from the Lenten obligation of abstinence on Friday, March 17, in
honor of St. Patrick’s Day. This dispensation does not detract from
the serious obligation of abstinence on the other Fridays of Lent
and this particular exception should deepen our appreciation of this
penitential practice.
