Ministries Supported by the
Diocesan Services Appeal
Below is sample of the ministries supported by the Diocesan
Services Appeal and does not reflect all ministries funded by
the DSA.
Catholic Education
The 21
Catholic Schools (over 8,000 students) and 53 parish-based
religious education programs (serving more than 20,000 students)
of the Diocese are committed to educational excellence with the
light and inspiration of our Catholic faith.
Catholic Charities
In the most
recent year, Catholic Charities assisted nearly 25,000 people
through its 16 different programs in its 49 program sites.
Approximately 325,000 client contacts were made last year.
Programs include: Immigration and Refugee Services, Wellness
Programs, After School Programs, Interfaith Health and Wellness,
Elder Affairs and Guardianships, Elder Housing, Counseling,
Birthline/Lifeline/Maurawood and Abstinence Programs, Family
Empowerment, a Food Bank and Transitional Housing for Homeless.
Clergy Personnel
Through
ongoing formation and continuing education, the Appeal provides
Priests and Deacons with the knowledge and skill development to
help them sustain excellence in their ministry.
Cultural Diversity
Each
weekend, Mass is celebrated in 5 languages across the Diocese.
Educational programs and immigration assistance help our
Hispanic, Haitian, Vietnamese, and other ethnic communities.
Marriage & Family Life and Respect Life Ministries
This office
supports marriage preparation and enrichment programs and
advocates for the dignity of all human beings.
Protection of Children
This office
promotes the protection of children and young people in all
Church areas, including parishes and schools.
Religious Priests, Brothers and Sisters
The Diocese
supports the many religious priests, brothers and sisters who
maintain a Catholic presence in our parishes, hospitals, and
parish religious education programs.
Vocations
Helping men
and women discern that God’s plan is for them, and for the
formation of men to the priesthood. Currently, there are 15
seminarians studying for the priesthood for the Diocese of Palm
Beach.
