Diocese Launches its New, Responsive Web Site

The Diocese of Palm Beach is proud to announce the launch of its newly-designed website. The site, still found at www.diocesepb.org, is a Responsive Web Design which makes the web pages respond and render better on a variety of electronic viewing devices. This means whether using a cell phone, a tablet or computer, the website adjusts to the device being used in order to allow for optimal viewing and interaction experience so visitors will see all the information.

“The Diocese of Palm Beach’s website has always been a communications tool to share the word of God and the Church’s teachings and messages to both Catholic and non-Catholic communities. A responsive website takes advantage of today’s most interactive technology and increases the ease of visiting the website and the amount of mobile traffic. The new website boosts the online presence of the Diocese of Palm Beach and allows the diocese to connect even more with our faith community as well as allowing others in our community to connect even more as a faith community,” explains Most Reverend Gerald Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach.

The new website allows for the use of more graphics and multimedia, and highlights the diocese’s social media. The search function within the online Parish Directory has been enhanced. Now the parish map locator allows a visitor to find a diocesan Church by city or zip code, and includes a search filer to allow a parish to be located within a certain radius/mile of a city or zip code.

This is the Diocese of Palm Beach’s second web site that features a Responsive Web Design. In 2015 the diocese launched a new website for the Office of Catholic Schools which also increased its online presence, and continues to provide an advanced platform to provide information to its current parents as well as providing prospective families with information on the diocese’s individual Catholic schools. It also showcases the social media messages from the Office of Catholic Schools and the individual messages from its schools.

The Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach encompasses the five counties of Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee. Comprised of 225,749 Catholics in 53 parishes and missions, the Diocese also serves the faithful community through its elementary, middle and high schools.
