National Child Abuse Awareness Month - A Show of Support in Blue

In observance of National Child Abuse Awareness month which takes place in April, the diocesan Office of Safe Environments invited all schools and parishes to show their support against child abuse by wearing blue and participating in a special event. The diocesan office asked Individuals, groups, ministries, schools, parishes and Religious Education classes to support this initiative by planning an event that raises awareness and start a discussion about Child Safety. Suggested ideas were wearing blue, creating a slogan, having a fund raiser, planting pinwheels, tie ribbons outdoors, have a family event, prayer service or hold a training class. Most schools and parishes selected to participate by having a one-day event during the week of April 11-16.
