The Diocese of Palm Beach will kick-off its annual Fall training of workshops for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. The workshop will be offered simultaneously in English and Spanish. This workshop will assist in training for both new and experienced Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Topics include: background theology, spiritual preparation, principles of good liturgy, ministry to the sick, and general procedures for Extraordinary Ministers. New ministers will get hands-on practice with unconsecrated altar breads and wine. The registration fee for all workshops is $12.00 per person, which includes all materials. Parishes will be billed after the workshop for the actual number of attendees from the parish.
Parishes: Parishioners are to be sent to this session by their Pastors or ministry coordinators, so they should not contact the Office of Liturgy with individual reservations. Instead, please designate a ministry coordinator to keep track of reservations, and email the Liturgy Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the expected number of participants from your parish no later than two days before the workshop day. The workshops start at 9:15 a.m. but the doors open for registration at 8:45 a.m.
The next workshops will be on October 6, 2018, at Holy Family Parish in Port St. Lucie and November 17 at St. Joan of Arc in Boca Raton.
