Respect Life Events Happening in the Month of October

Steps for Life

Birthline/Lifeline Pregnancy Care Center’s annual pro-life fundraiser, Steps for Life, will be modified this year from an in-person gathering to an individual fundraising initiative. Throughout the month of October, individuals and groups are encouraged to collect donations and distribute copies of the event pledge card so that others may contribute to the support of the life-affirming work of Birthline/Lifeline and pray individually or in small groups for a culture of life.

Proceeds will be applied to the operational costs of Birthline/Lifeline Pregnancy Care Centers throughout the Diocese of Palm Beach. This program is a part of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach, whose mission is to promote a culture of life, serving women and children in need by caring for life, born and unborn; advocating chastity, modesty, and purity; respecting human life as sacred and a gift from God; and offering dignity to women.

Walking with Moms in Need

Walking with Moms in Need is a year of service where Catholic parishes and communities "walk in the shoes" of local pregnant and parenting women in need. Event leaders are seeking diapers sizes newborn to 6 and baby wipes. These may be dropped off at:

Butterfly Release

All are welcome to the 3rd Annual Butterfly Release at St. Helen Church, Oct. 11. This event is a memorial to recognize the National Day of Remembrance for Unborn Babies, hosted by the parish’s Respect Life Ministry.

Join faithful in the area to reflect, grieve, heal and honor all the babies who have not been born to this earth. All are welcome, including those who have encountered a miscarriage, stillborn or abortion. Parish ministry leaders pray that the symbolic releasing of butterflies will bring peace, love and forgiveness to all who have experienced these great losses. For those that cannot physically attend, please consider sponsoring a butterfly, which will be released on your behalf.

Participants will meet on the lawn outside the northwest church door (Mary side), located at 2085 Tallahassee Ave., Vero Beach, 32960. For more information call 484-515-7882 or visit
