Diocesan Teachers Receive Award & Recognition

During a teacher professional day held in early June at Cardinal Newman High School, the diocese recognized teachers celebrating milestones in their educational career and those teachers retiring after spending years dedicated in educating young people in academics and faith.


Retiring Teachers with 20 or more years of service:

  • Fr. Guy Fiano, O. Carm.,  Pope John Paul II High School, 24 years
  • Sandra Shea, St. Luke School, 25 years
  • Joan Gomez, Cardinal Newman High School, 28 years
  • Patricia Marshal, St. Helen School, 28 years
  • Kathi Neuberger, St. Helen School, 30 years
  • Barbara Paxton, St. Anastasia School, 30 years
  • Annie Inzerillo, St. Luke School, 31 years
  • Magaly Giraud, St. Juliana School, 31 years
  • Joe Reen, St. Clare Catholic School, 33 years
  • Cathleen Meyer, All Saints Catholic Schools, 36 years
  • Susan Gill, St. Clare Catholic School, 36 years
  • Virginia Devine, Rosarian Academy, 36 years
  • Sr. Ellen Murphy, RSM, St Joan of Arc School, 41 years
  • Leah Davidson, Pope John Paul II High School, 45 years


In addition to those listed above, 65 teachers were recognized for longevity of service ranging in years from 20 to 43 years. All 65 will be back in our diocesan schools in the next school year.
