St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie, FL is searching for a Part Time Religious Education Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:
• Organize, schedule and oversee religious education programs including First Communion, Confirmation and retreats
• Plan Vacation Bible School (VBS) curriculum
• Conduct meetings with parents and catechists
• Develop and maintain a yearly calendar of RE activities, events etc.
• Recruit, train and support catechists
• Plan and coordinate sacramental rites (First communion, Confirmation) including rehearsals and ceremonies
• Create and promote service projects for Confirmation candidates as part of their faith formation
• Maintain accurate student records, attendance and notification of sacraments to church of baptism
• Order textbooks and other resources for the RE program
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in Religious Education, Theology or related field
• Experience particularly with children and youth is highly desirable
Skills:
• Knowledge of Catholic doctrine and teachings of the church
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and parents
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and compassion
• Be proactive, multi-task, work independently and make responsible judgment calls
• Strong ethical values
