BOYNTON BEACH | The Serra Club of South Palm Beach County hosted its annual Christmas dinner Dec. 11, 2025, honoring men studying for the priesthood. Seminarians for the Diocese of Palm Beach and other dioceses in the southeastern United States who are students at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary enjoyed the Serrans’ hospitality and seasonal cheer.
Kathy Reese, Serra Club president, served as emcee for the evening and greeted everyone at the Benvenuto Restaurant. The club meets monthly at St. Matthew Parish in Lake Worth for 9 a.m. Mass, followed by breakfast with a scheduled guest speaker.
Father Leonard Dim, St. Matthew pastor, has been wonderful to welcome the club, Resse said. Members also assist the diocesan Office of Vocations and Seminarians by serving lunch at retreats for sixth- and 11th-grade Catholic school students.
The Christmas dinner is the club’s largest event of the year, she said, “because we like to get the seminarians and the priests out to say thank you to them.”
“We like to get to really know the seminarians. A lot of them are away from home. Some of them, they’re away from their home country,” Reese said. The club’s 45 members like doting on the seminarians and supporting them in any way possible.
She encouraged anyone interested in boosting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life to become a Serran. Reese can be contacted at 561-251-6934 or katereese@comcast.net.
