Walking with Jesus Christ

Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez celebrated Mass, led a Eucharistic procession on parish property and presided at Benediction at St. Sebastian in Sebastian.

SEBASTIAN  |  On the solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), June 7, 2026, Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez celebrated Mass, led a Eucharistic procession on parish property and presided at Benediction at St. Sebastian in Sebastian.

He was welcomed to the diocese’s northernmost parish for the first time by Father Antony Pulikal, pastor and newly appointed diocesan chancellor, moderator of the curia and episcopal vicar for strategic planning.

In his homily, Bishop Rodríguez reminded parishioners of their essential ties to the precious body and blood of the Lord.

“Today is an important day for us to understand that we are the Church of the Eucharist, and we are the people who believe in the power of the Eucharist. We are the Eucharistic people of God,” he said. “Without the Eucharist, we don’t exist. We don’t exist as a religion, we don’t exist as a church, and, therefore, we live on the Eucharist. That is the secret of our connection with God.”
