Doors open at 11:30 am for registration and social networking, guests are asked to be seated by 11:55 am in order to confirm/finalize menu selections, the meeting program starts at 12 noon and ends promptly 1:30 pm. Social distancing and facial covering/masks are required as per Palm Beach County COVID-19 meeting guidelines.
Featured Guest Speaker
Our speaker for this event is Erin Grall, member of the Florida House of Representative representing District 54 (which includes Indian River County and part of St. Lucie County) and sponsor of the House version of the anti-abortion Senate Bill 404 -- signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis on June 30, 2021 -- requiring parental consent for a physician to perform an abortion on a minor.
The timing of Rep. Grall's remarks on anti-abortion legislation initiatives in Florida, other states, and the United States federal government are especially important to our audience in light of the following:
• State of Florida and other states' initiatives to adopt "Heartbeat" legislation similar to that recently enacted by the State of Texas
• Women's Health Protection Act ("WHPA") -- recently passed in the US House of Representatives -- that seeks to impose abortion on demand at any stage of pregnancy through federal statute, and
• Mississippi case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization which will be heard by the US Supreme Court the first week in December, 2021 which has the potential to overturn Roe v. Wade.
This is a networking event so bring your business cards, your organization's literature, pens and notepads -- and of course, your appetite -- you're going to need them all!
