Disciple Maker Index (DMI)
Growing Together as Missionary Disciples
The Diocese of Palm Beach is participating in the Disciple Maker Index (DMI), an opportunity for parishioners across our diocese to reflect on their faith journey and share their experiences of parish life.
Developed by the Catholic Leadership Institute, the DMI is a survey that helps parishioners reflect on their spiritual growth and discipleship while providing pastors and parish leaders with valuable insight into the strengths and opportunities within their parish communities. This information will help our parishes better support the faithful as we grow in love for Jesus Christ and live as missionary disciples.
What Is the Disciple Maker Index?
The Disciple Maker Index (DMI) is a survey that provides an opportunity for parishioners to reflect on their spiritual growth and discipleship while helping parish leaders better understand the spiritual health of their parish community.
The DMI helps parishes identify their strengths, recognize opportunities for growth, and better understand how they can support parishioners in growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ and living as missionary disciples.
The DMI helps parish leaders:
- Understand the spiritual needs and experiences of their parishioners.
- Identify ways the parish is effectively supporting spiritual growth.
- Recognize opportunities to strengthen evangelization and discipleship.
- Gather valuable feedback to help guide pastoral planning and future initiatives.
Why Your Participation Matters
Every voice matters.
By participating in the DMI, parishioners have an opportunity to share their experiences, hopes, and perspectives about their parish community. Your feedback will help our parishes better understand how they can accompany and support one another in growing closer to Christ.
The goal is not simply to gather information, but to use that information to help our parish communities become places where people can encounter Jesus Christ, grow as His disciples, and share the Gospel with others.

We encourage all parishioners to participate and help us gain a fuller picture of the faith life of our parish communities.
What Happens After the Survey?
The DMI provides parish leaders with valuable information that can help guide future pastoral planning and evangelization efforts.
Following the survey, parish leaders will have the opportunity to review the results, identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth, and prayerfully consider how the parish can continue to better serve its community and lead people closer to Christ.
