At Christmas, we celebrate that Christ was born, as the angels announced, to bring “peace on earth to those on whom His favor rests.” We continue to yearn for that peace within our world and within our hearts.
Pope Leo recently urged, “Choose peace as a way, not just as a goal.” Peace is always present when we choose Christ as His favor rests on all of us. May Christmas be a time to experience the favor and peace of Christ as we continue to choose Him!

En Navidad celebramos que Cristo nació, como anunciaron los ángeles, para traer “paz a los hombres amados por él”. Seguimos anhelando esa paz en nuestro mundo y en nuestros corazones.
El Papa León exhortó recientemente: “Elijan la paz como un camino, no solo como una meta”. La paz siempre está presente cuando elegimos a Cristo, pues Su favor descansa sobre todos nosotros. ¡Que la Navidad sea un tiempo para experimentar el favor y la paz de Cristo mientras seguimos eligiéndolo!

O sweet Child of Bethlehem,
grant that we may share with all our hearts
in this profound mystery of Christmas.
Put into the hearts of men and women this peace
for which they sometimes seek so desperately
and which you alone can give to them.
Help them to know one another better,
and to live as brothers and sisters,
children of the same Father.
Reveal to them also your beauty, holiness and purity.
Awaken in their hearts
love and gratitude for your infinite goodness.
Join them all together in your love.
And give us your heavenly peace.
