Director of Advancement - St. Clare Catholic School

St. Clare Catholic School located in North Palm Beach, FL is searching for a full time Director of Advancement & Communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the school's comprehensive advancement strategy, including annual giving, major gifts, and capital campaign initiatives 
  • Serve as primary staff lead on the Building Our Future Legacy Capital Campaign, coordinating with the Pastor, Principal, and Advisory Council on public phase activities 
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and donor partners, maintaining regular personal contact with key giving relationships 
  • Build and manage a donor pipeline and prospect research process to grow the base of support 
  • Plan and execute fundraising events (galas, giving days, appeals) in coordination with school administration 
  • Oversee donor recognition programs and ensure timely, accurate gift acknowledgment 
  • Manage the school's donor database, ensuring accurate records of gifts, pledges, and constituent relationships 
  • Prepare regular advancement reports and campaign progress updates for the Pastor, Principal, and Advisory Council 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure advancement messaging aligns with the school's brand and Catholic identity 
  • Support Advisory Council engagement, including committee coordination and board-level fundraising initiatives 
  • Cultivate relationships with alumni, grandparent, and parish constituencies as potential giving audiences 
  • Work with the Director of Enrollment Management to align advancement efforts with enrollment growth goals where relevant 
  • Ensure all advancement activities reflect the mission and values of the Catholic Church and the school's charism 
  • Manage the advancement budget, including campaign expenses and event costs 
  • Represent the school at diocesan advancement gatherings and community events as needed

Qualifications:

  • Advancement or development experience (Catholic/private school experience a plus)
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for Catholic education and school mission
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
  • Experience with donor CRM systems
  • Ability to multitask, work independently and make responsible judgment calls
  • Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, department heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public
  • Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capacity
  • Ability to stay focused and organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good business judgment
  • Strong ethical values

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, team player, and “people person” who is organized, creative, and dedicated to student success.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
  • Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Frequent bending, climbing, stretching and kneeling
  • Frequent use of both hands and fingers
  • Occasional moments of minimal and routine hearing
