The Parish of St. Joseph, Stuart, Florida (2,500+ families), is seeking a full-time professional individual with the desire and talent to be a leader in Religious Education as the Director of Faith Formation and Evangelization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Is able to give evidence of personal commitment to the teachings and life of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Recruit, Formation and ongoing support of Catechists.
• Can recognize and respond to the educational/catechetical needs of a multi-cultural parish.
• Works collaboratively with other Pastoral Ministers in building up the Kingdom of God.

Qualifications:

• Holds a Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education/Theology
• Brings at least five years’ experience in innovative programs and process implementation
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet, eCatholic. Software, and Formation Office Management Programs.
• Has experience with Whole Family Catechesis, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Sacramental preparation, including Baptism to Full-Initiation, OCIA, OCIC, OICA and Quiceañera Preparation
• Ability to multi-task, work independently and make responsible judgment calls. 
• Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, departments heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public. 
• Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills. Proficiency with Social Media Platforms.
• Required to work flexible hours to provide support for all Faith Formation Programs, including evening and weekend hours.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving capacity. 
• Ability to stay focused and organized. 
• Strong interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to respect confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good business judgment.
• Strong ethical values.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds.
• Occasional moderate carrying and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional periods of standing, kneeling and climbing.
• Frequent use of both hands and fingers (i.e. typing).
• Frequent extended periods of sitting.
• Exposed to visual display terminal for prolonged periods.
• Occasional ability of minimal hearing (i.e. loud noises, sirens) and routine hearing (i.e. listening to others in conversation).
• Occasional time spent working closely with others. 
• Working both inside and outside.
• Driving of motorized vehicles.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
