St. Lucie Catholic Church located in Port St. Lucie; FL is searching for a Part Time Maintenance Assistant (Friday - Monday).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and stock bathrooms in the church and parish center, before, between and after masses. Make sure they are clean and always stocked. 
• Order supplies
• Vacuum sacristy and church rotunda entrance.
• Clean and vacuum hall entrance foyer, dust and vacuum rugs outside the entrance doors and wash foyer doors.
• Sweep parish center floors and stairs.
• Check and clean the parish center kitchen, as necessary.
• Always keep church and parish center floors clean. Mop floors as needed.
• Pick up and remove trash and waste. Remove any gum
• Assist in setting up parish center for events as needed.
• Before leaving, check on all areas mentioned above and make sure all are clean and stocked, as necessary.
• Make sure everything is turned off (lights, AC, sound system, stove) and the buildings are locked. (One AC unit can be left on in the church to keep it cool for the evening masses.)
• Perform minor interior and exterior repairs as applicable.
• Assist with outdoor work in garden and pool area.
• Cover for others in the Maintenance Department during vacations or sickness.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma. Technical education is desired.

• Must necessary mechanical skills.

• Heavy lifting is required.

• Experience with floor buffers and mid-size equipment is a plus.

• Ability to organize and prioritize time.

• Strong interpersonal skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish (Fluent)

• Ability to respect confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion.

• Strong ethical values.

• Adheres to the Diocese of Palm Beach Code of Conduct

Physical Requirements

• Heavy lifting of fifty pounds or more.

• Frequent bending, climbing, stretching, and kneeling.

• Frequent use of both hands and fingers
