St. Jude Church and School located in Boca Raton, FL is searching for a Full Time Maintenance Technician (Monday thru Friday, year round). Hours 12:30 pm to 8:30pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Employee is responsible for assigned facets of the care for the building and grounds includes but not limited to:

• Detailed knowledge of janitorial procedures.
• Ability to use and understand cleaning chemicals and maintenance equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, AC equipment, including chillers, lawn sprinkler systems and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and work scheduled hours assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry items less than 44 lbs.; occasionally moderately lift from 50-70 lbs.
• Ability to multitask and have good relationships with other employees and contractors.
• Must be comfortable on ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to work extra hours for parish special events.
• Holds a valid Florida Driver’s license.
• Fluent in English.
• Must be able to pass background screening procedures as mandated by the Diocese of Palm Beach.
• Must be able to work Christmas Holiday, Easter Holiday and other church events (Including weekends and evenings).
• Occasionally must be available for on call.

Qualifications: 

• Demonstrated ability to successfully and efficiently work independently or with other in a team atmosphere. 
• Experience and familiarity with Catholic institutions, including parishes, schools, and the Diocese of Palm Beach is recommended. 

Personal 

• Strongly self-motivated and self-sufficient; can lead and perform effectively with minimal support. 
• An unquestioned reputation for integrity and ethics.
• Good communication skills, with diplomacy and credibility across multiple internal and external channels. 
• High level of self-awareness: unselfish, providing credit to others, and receding when appropriate.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional moderate lifting and carrying of 15-60 lbs.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of under 15 lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, kneeling and bending.
• Occasional exposure to excessive heat.
• Occasional walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
• Occasional working on ladders or scaffolding.
• Occasional working with hand in water.
• Frequent working closely with others and alone.
