The Diocese of Palm Beach was pleased to celebrate the 31st annual Lumen Christi Scholarship Gala on December 6, 2019.  The theme of this year’s Gala was “IGNITE THE FUTURE!”

The purpose of the Lumen Christi Gala is two-fold, to raise funds for scholarships and to recognize the wonderful stories and people who are the heart of our Catholic schools. The Diocese of Palm Beach has a longstanding tradition of honoring and recognizing excellence and distinguished service in Catholic school education. The Lumen Christi Awards were created three years ago to recognize the outstanding efforts, contributions, and achievements of individuals on behalf of Catholic school education in the diocese. Each school was invited to select one award recipient and they are honored at the event.

Again at this year’s Lumen Christi Scholarship Gala there was a presentation of the Lumen Christi Awards. The awards recognized the outstanding efforts, contributions and achievement on behalf of Catholic school education in the diocese. An outstanding person, couple or team from each of our 17 Diocesan Catholic school’s community were recognized during the Lumen Christi Scholarship Gala. The award acknowledged a variety of people from accross the diocese such as teachers, priests, volunteers, School Advisory Council members, benefactors, parishioners—individuals who have positively impacted our Diocesan Catholic schools. The Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach, congratulated the 2019 Lumen Christi award nominees!
