PALM BEACH GARDENS | With the end of the 2024-25 school year, the Lumen Christi Schools Appeal has also come to a close, with $620,000 donated. Proceeds from the fundraising campaign are allocated to support and enhance the education of the more than 7,200 students enrolled in local Catholic schoxols. Thanks to the generosity of many benefactors, the appeal helps to meet the needs of three Catholic preschools, 12 elementary schools and three high schools in the Diocese of Palm Beach.
As Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito said last fall at the start of the annual drive, “This year’s Lumen Christi Schools Appeal theme is ‘Live the Light of Christ.’ This theme reminds us of the English translation from the Latin words ‘lumen Christi,’ as Light of Christ, and our duty to live that message through our actions. Just as the mission of our Catholic schools is to build learning communities based on the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and rich in Catholic values and tradition, we also are to Live the Light of Christ.

“One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the appeal will be allocated to support our Catholic schools as they work tirelessly to provide a Christ-centered education,” he added. “Also, donors will be given the opportunity to be recognized for their assistance through our communication outlets as a sign of our appreciation.”
Donations to the Lumen Christi Schools Appeal are an investment to ensure the continuing relevance and growth of Catholic education. The following donors have been especially generous in their support of the 2024-25 appeal:
