WEST PALM BEACH | Cardinal Newman High School has announced that its newly renovated academic building will be named the Rocco A. Marcello Family Academic Building.
The renovation, scheduled to be completed at the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year, signifies a transformative chapter in the school’s 63-year history. Substantial enhancements will provide students with an immersive and enriching learning environment. The state-of-the-art facility will house science classrooms, laboratories, an innovation center, mathematics classrooms, and a centralized entry with offices for admissions and student services.
The building’s name was announced March 9, 2024, at the annual Newman Night 2024 gala, themed “A Night Under the Palms,” at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. Chaired by Kathryn Dillon, Erin Shea and Shana Sheptak, with honorary chairs Jackie and Jay Marvin, the gala raised vital funds that will benefit Cardinal Newman students.
The evening, with more than 350 guests including Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito, was filled with camaraderie and entertainment, including silent and live auctions, dinner, dancing and music performed by the 15-piece band The Social.
“The support of our community significantly impacts the students today and paves the way for their future,” said John Clarke, interim president. “This event is a testament to our community’s dedication to the education and growth of our students. I am truly grateful for the generosity and dedication of all who contributed to making this event a resounding success.”
