Residence hosts annual May crowning

Due to inclement weather, this year’s May crowning at Lourdes Noreen McKeen Residences was moved indoors May 12 to the Skaff Family Chapel. While it rained outside, the chapel was filled with light — radiating from the smiles of residents, staff, visitors and the Carmelite sisters.A group of homeschooled children, led by program director Florence Werner, shared their talents during the ceremony, including a violinist, singer and an organist, who performed Marian hymns.

Our Lady was crowned by Keegan, who recently received his first Communion and is the son of Kelly, independent and assisted living administrator. As a thank you for their participation, the children enjoyed a pizza party following the celebration. The residents especially enjoyed the event, as they look forward to the cherished tradition each year.
