40 Days campaign begins

Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito prayed Sept. 24, 2025, at the start of the 40 Days for Life vigil outside the abortion center on Northpoint Parkway near 45th Street in West Palm Beach. 40 Days for Life, a campaign to maintain a peaceful, public presence outside abortion sites and dissuade mothers from aborting their children, will run through Saturday, Nov. 1, at four locations in the diocese.  Shawn Carney, co-founder and president of the national 40 Days for Life organization, spoke Sept. 22 at a 40 Days kick-off event in Fort Pierce at St. Anastasia Parish.  To join the effort to save babies from abortion, contact the following 40 Days leaders: Mary Ellen Chajkowski, 561-410-4337, in West Palm Beach; Aleana Meadows, 561-507-8991, North Florida Mango Road, West Palm Beach; Jim Thoma, 772-240-6186, Southeast Hillmoor Drive, Port St. Lucie; and Mike Semanie, 360-632-8870, South 12th Street, Fort Pierce.
