Women invited to experience sense of freedom

PALM BEACH GARDENS  |  Women throughout the Diocese of Palm Beach are invited to a day of restoration and renewal at a conference featuring EWTN television and radio host Johnnette Benkovic Williams Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola, 9999 N. Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens.

“Healing the Wounds of the Heart: Journey to Joy” is the theme of the one-day event led by Williams, founder and president of Women of Grace, an apostolate for Catholic women. In a phone interview with the Florida Catholic, she explained the program’s agenda.

“One of the beautiful ways in which God wants to work within a soul is to heal those areas in our heart that have been wounded, either by our personal sin or the sins of others against us. He longs to enter into those very places and, as I like to say, pitch his tent, to make a home there,” Williams said.

“We’ll be exploring the ways in which we can open our heart to let God enter those places, and even really to identify those places where we might need to welcome him. Through the course of the day, we will also discover the ways in which we can cooperate with grace to experience being set free from all that might have encumbered us in these areas in the past,” she added.

Williams said the retreat day is a fruit of many years of inner healing she has experienced and helped others move through in presentations on TV, radio and at locations across the United States. She is pleased to offer a conference at the diocesan cathedral and encourage women to enter more fully into the life of Jesus.

“It is my hope that, when the women leave this event, they will experience within themselves a new sense of freedom,” Williams said. “There’s a beautiful passage that is given to us in 2 Corinthians, Chapter 3, verse 17, ‘where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom,’ and we want to invite the healing power of our Lord to come to us by way of the Holy Spirit that we might experience that freedom that comes by way of him.”

The conference day will begin with registration and refreshments at 8 a.m., then a welcome and introductions at 9, Mass about 11:45, followed by lunch and the sacrament of reconciliation, Eucharistic adoration, closing remarks at 4 p.m., and four inspiring talks by Williams throughout the event.

The cost is $50 per person (including lunch), and free for clergy and religious. For information and to register, visit www.womenofgrace.com/events/411, call 800-558-5452 or email info@womenofgrace.com.
