St. Anastasia Parish and School in Fort Pierce Morning Star Program

FORT PIERCE | Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez went to St. Anastasia Parish and School in Fort Pierce Sept. 24 to honor the parish’s 100th anniversary and cut the ribbon to officially open its Morning Star Program.

The first of its kind in the diocese, Morning Star aims to provide students with unique learning needs a supportive, individualized Catholic educational environment where they can learn, grow, participate in the life of the Church and discover the gifts God has placed within each of them.

“As bishop, I am especially grateful to see our Catholic schools continuing to seek new ways to welcome and serve our children and families,” he said. “Every child is a beloved son or daughter of God, endowed with unique gifts, dignity and tremendous potential. Catholic education should help each student recognize those gifts and know that they have a place within our Church and our school communities.”

Bishop Rodríguez expressed gratitude to Father Richard George, pastor; Principal Kevin Hoeffner; diocesan and school leadership; dedicated educators and staff; and especially the families and students who are beginning this new chapter together.
