The countdown to World Youth Day Seoul 2027 has officially begun!
Long before we board a plane for Korea, our pilgrimage starts right here at home. Over the coming months, we will journey together as one diocesan family through a series of inspiring gatherings designed to prepare our hearts, minds, and spirits for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
These events will feature dynamic catechesis, meaningful prayer, spiritual formation, fellowship, community-building, and plenty of fun along the way. Some gatherings will bring together all 700 of our diocesan pilgrims for unforgettable moments of unity and celebration, while others will be held within your parish or deanery travel groups, allowing you to build lasting friendships with those who will walk this pilgrimage beside you.
World Youth Day is far more than a trip—it is a pilgrimage. As we prepare to travel to the land of the Korean Martyrs, we also prepare to encounter Christ more deeply and discover what He is calling each of us to become. These months of formation are an essential part of that journey.
Below you'll find the dates, times, and locations of our upcoming pilgrimage events. This calendar will continue to grow throughout the year, so be sure to check back often, mark your calendar, and make every effort to join us. The journey has already begun—we can't wait to share it with you!

Theme
"Take Courage! I have overcome the World" ~ John 16:33
This verse, spoken by Jesus to his disciples at the Last Supper, reminds us of the irrevocable truth that despite the challenges of the world, Christ has already conquered fear, sin, and death. It is a call to hope and courage rooted in faith in the resurrection—not a passive optimism, but a bold confidence grounded in the living presence of Christ.
Logo
Utilizing traditional brush script and gracefully combining Hangeul, characterized by its geometric forms, with English, it contains the letters W, Y, and D. This coexistence of Seoul and WYD shows our hope for a harmonious convergence of East and West.

Official Prayer for World Youth Day Seoul 2027
Loving Lord of all young people,
we thank you for inviting us into your infinite love and mercy.
Our Father, we entrust ourselves to you.
May young people everywhere be comforted in the embrace of your Church,
and come to share deeply in the joy of communion and unity.
Lord Jesus Christ, you overcome the world, both now and forever.
May all people discover the hope that lies in your call to take courage,
realizing that the cross of love and forgiveness is the true victory over the world.
Oh Holy Spirit, Flame of Love,
by your wonderous hand
you have sown the seeds of faith in Korea.
Kindle the flame of the Korean martyrs’ faith in our hearts,
making us into disciples who live out the gospel of peace, love, and truth.
Lord, we pray that through this pilgrim journey of World Youth Day
we may listen to each other, discern your will,
and become a synodal Church, walking together with all of God’s people. Amen.
