Part Time After-Care Assistant - St. Anastasia Catholic School

Part Time After-Care Assistant
Monday through Friday – When school is in session
Regular School Days – 2:45 – 5:30 p.m.
Noon Dismissal Days – 11:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, under the direction of the After Care Supervisor, students enrolled in the After Care Program.  This means circulating among students.
  • Assists the Supervisor in planning and involving all students in play and activity.
  • Makes sure that all equipment is in good working order.  Reports any damage or concerns to the Director or her designee.
  • Reports to the After Care Supervisor any concerns relative to the safety and health of students.  Reports any minor or major injury to the supervisor immediately.
  • Follows emergency care procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by After Care Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have at least a High School Diploma - (It is preferred that applicants have taken some college Early Childhood Education or Education classes.)
  • Applicants must pass a background check before being considered for hire.
  • Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, departments heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public. 
  • Ability to stay focused and organized. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good business judgment.
  • Strong ethical values.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors:

  • Frequent Walking
  • Frequent Standing
  • Occasional bending, climbing, stretching and kneeling
  • Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
  • Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
  • Continuous moments of minimal and routine hearing
  • Working outside – continuously
  • Working inside – occasionally
  • Excessive heat – occasionally
  • Human blood, body fluids, tissue - occasionally
