Director of Facilities - Sacred Heart Catholic School
Sacred Heart Catholic School located in Lake Worth, FL is searching for a full time Director of Facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• To give witness and example of Catholic values.
• Always maintain a positive attitude, representing a positive image of the Church and of Christ to fellow staff members, parishioners, vendors, and visitors.

• To support the total parish & school program.
To complete detailed maintenance duties for the parish & school which will include but not limited to:
• Establish a schedule for maintenance activities, so that facilities may be appropriately prepared for them.
• Ensure that school facilities are clean and presentable at all times.
• Ensure that the school grounds are in good shape.
• Ensure that all school equipment is appropriately maintained.
• Order and ensure delivery, storage, and appropriate use of all maintenance supplies for the school plant.
• Present all invoices in a timely manner to the school bookkeeper; keep in touch with them on expenses.
• Make recommendations to principal with regard to maintenance and repairs; coordinate and oversee the work of all vendors, contractors, sub-contractors, and landscapers on school grounds.
• Respond to needs in the school as presented by the pastor.
• Oversee all building projects pertaining to the school.
• Oversee issues pertaining to code enforcement.
• Ability to use and understand cleaning chemicals and maintenance equipment.
• Schedule pest control monthly for school.
• Change air conditioner filters every 2 months.
• Responsible for ordering housekeeping supplies (trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, cleaning supplies).
• Oversee landscaping, sprinkler system, & rustproofing machine
• Clean the gym & buff the floor once a week.
• Make sure school is code compliant
• Must be present during any repairs that are done by vendors
• Must be present during all inspections.
• Setting of all timers for lights and sprinklers.
• Make sure all chemicals are labeled.
• Implement use of specialized cleaning duties using special equipment such as floor polisher and spot cleaner
• To understand Diocesan protocols, pertaining to safety, OSHA, contracts, certificates of insurance and professional meetings at the school.
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years experience in detailed knowledge of maintenance procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
• Plumbing and electrical experience is a plus
• Ability to use and understand cleaning chemicals and maintenance equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, AC equipment, and lawn sprinkler system and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work effectively with Diocesan employees, departments heads, representatives of other agencies and the general public.
• Ability to multitask, for teamwork and of good relationships with other employees and contractors.
• Ability to make responsible judgement calls.
• Adhere to the Diocese of Palm Beach Code of Conduct with emphasis on confidentiality and able to exercise discretion and good business judgment
• Excellent and professional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to make sound educational decisions.
• Strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
• Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
• Frequent use of both hands and fingers (i.e. typing)
• Frequent extended periods of sitting
• Occasional periods of standing, kneeling and climbing
• Occasional ability of minimal hearing (i.e. loud noises, sirens) and routine hearing (i.e. listening to others in conversation)
• Occasional time spent working closely with others
