St. Jude Catholic Church & School located in Boca Raton, FL, is looking for a Part Time Extended Day Counselor.
As an extended day counselor, the candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for elementary school students after regular school hours. The primary role will be to supervise and engage with children during aftercare activities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their social and emotional development. The candidate must also be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with early and elementary school-aged children
- Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a professional demeanor
- Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and handle various responsibilities simultaneously
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional light lifting and carrying of under 15 pounds
- Occasional moderate carrying and lifting of 15 – 44 pounds
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, climbing, stretching and kneeling
- Frequent use of both hands and fingers
- Occasional moments of minimal and routine hearing
Responsibilities:
- 1. Supervise and monitor elementary school students during aftercare hours
- 2. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to engage children in a fun and educational manner
- 3. Assist students with homework and provide academic support when needed
- 4. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and teamwork
- 5. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following established protocols and procedures
- 6. Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and other team members regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise
- 7. Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any relevant information
- 8. Collaborate with other aftercare counselors to create a cohesive and supportive team environment
