Funeral Mass of the Roman Pontiff Francis
Join us for the solemn rite of translation of the body of Pope Francis, presided over by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM (Rome time) with a moment of prayer.
The funeral procession will move through Santa Marta Square and the Square of the Roman Protomartyrs, exiting through the Arch of the Bells into St. Peter’s Square, and entering St. Peter’s Basilica through the central door.
At the Altar of the Confession, Cardinal Farrell will preside over the Liturgy of the Word. At the conclusion of the liturgy, the faithful will be invited to pay their final respects during the public visitation of the Holy Father’s body.
