Saint John Paul II Academy Announces 2025 Succession Plan

St. John Paul II Academy

Letter from Current President Br. Dan Aubin

OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

March 15, 2024
Dear Saint John Paul II Academy Community,

It is with a mix of emotions that I write to you today. As I reflect on the incredible journey we've undertaken together over the past eleven years, I am filled with gratitude for the unwavering support, dedication, and commitment each of you has shown to Saint John Paul II Academy.
This year marks a significant milestone in my life as a De La Salle Christian Brother, as I celebrate my 50th anniversary living my chosen vocation. Throughout these decades, I have been privileged to serve alongside remarkable individuals, witnessing the transformative power of education and the boundless potential of our students.
As we look towards the future and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead, I believe it is time for the school to transition into a new era—one characterized by innovation, growth, and continued excellence. After much contemplation and prayerful consideration, I have made the decision to step down as President of Saint John Paul II Academy at the end of the next school year, effective June 30, 2025.
I am confident in the capable leadership of Mr. Ed Bernot, who will succeed me as President of our esteemed institution. Mr. Bernot’s dedication to our mission, his deep understanding of our community, and his proven track record of success make him the ideal candidate to lead us into this new chapter. I ask each of you to offer him your full support and cooperation as he assumes this pivotal role.
Furthermore, as part of our strategic plan, the school, in partnership with the Diocese of Palm Beach and the District of Eastern North America, will embark on a search for a new Principal to coincide with Mr. Bernot’s transition to the role of President. This process will ensure a seamless transition and uphold the integrity of our academic programs and values.

I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to each member of our school community—students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters—for your tireless dedication, passion, and commitment to our shared mission. Together, we have accomplished remarkable feats, from stabilizing our financial position to achieving near capacity enrollment goals, and forging new partnerships as our school officially became a ministry of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
As I previously mentioned, although I will step down as President on June 30, 2025, it is my intention to remain at Saint John Paul II Academy, in a part-time role that has yet to be determined by Mr. Bernot and myself. I am confident that the spirit of Saint John Baptist de La Salle will continue to guide and inspire us as we strive for excellence in all that we do.
In closing, I extend my sincerest prayers and best wishes to each member of our community as we embark on this journey of transition and renewal. May God bless you abundantly, and the spirit of faith continues to be lived within the hearts of all in our Saint John Paul II Academy community.
Live Jesus in our Hearts….. Forever!!

With deepest gratitude and warm regards,

Brother Daniel Aubin, FSC
