PALM BEACH GARDENS | The final Eucharistic holy hour in a quarterly series that began in June 2023 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola, 9999 N. Military Trail in Palm Beach Gardens. Bishop Gerald M. Barbarito will preside.
In addition, parishes in the Diocese of Palm Beach were encouraged to conduct their own holy hour at the same time the bishop is leading worshipers at the cathedral as a sign of unity. Check with your parish to see if a special holy hour is set then or at another time.
The previous deanery-level multi-language holy hours, sponsored by the diocesan Office of Hispanic Ministry, occurred at St. Bernadette in Port St. Lucie, St. Joan of Arc in Boca Raton, St. Luke in Palm Springs and St. Peter in Jupiter.
The cathedral prayer service will conclude the local celebration of the National Eucharistic Revival’s parish phase, which began last June. Parishes nationwide were urged to initiate grassroots efforts inspired by the four pillars of the revival: reinvigorated worship, personal encounters with the Eucharistic Lord, robust formation and sending missionaries to invite lapsed Catholics to return home.
The revival now shifts to the 10th National Eucharistic Congress, planned for July 17-21, in Indianapolis. Individuals and groups of parishioners from the Diocese of Palm Beach are set to join thousands of others in Indiana to experience personal revival through the power of Jesus in the Eucharist.
From the Eucharistic Congress until Pentecost 2025 will be a year of mission, with Catholics sent out into the world to spread the revival movement, accompanying those in need or at the margins and giving them the good news of Jesus’ Real Presence.
