Monday Diocesan Update: View Diocesan Schools Closures & Updates in the Diocese & Catholic Charities

Here is our evening update on our diocesan schools:

  • As of 6:10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, the following diocesan schools have announced they will be closed on Tuesday. A few have already announced they will be closed on Wednesday. Please see below.  Again, we emphasize to check with your individual school regarding re-opening or closures.
  1. John Carroll High School – Ft. Pierce
  2. St. Anastasia School – Ft. Pierce
  3. St. Helen School- Vero Beach
  4. All Saints Catholic School - Jupiter (*see special message below)
  5. St. Clare School – North Palm Beach
  6. Cardinal Newman High School – West Palm Beach - closed Tuesday and Wednesday
  7. Holy Cross Preschool and Center – West Palm Beach
  8. St. Ann School – West Palm Beach – closed Tuesday and Wednesday
  9. Rosarian School – West Palm Beach
  10. St. Juliana School – West Palm Beach
  11. St. Luke School – Palm Springs
  12. Sacred Heart School – Lake Worth
  13. St. Vincent Ferrer School - Delray Beach
  14. St. Joan of Arc – Boca Raton – closed Tuesday and Wednesday
  15. St. Jude School – Boca Raton
  16. St. John Paul II Academy - Boca Raton

*Excerpt from Prinicpal's Message posted on All Saints Facebook Page:  All Saints Catholic School will re-open this Wednesday, September 13th. Wednesday will be a full day, not a half day as scheduled. If your family is unable to return due to evacuations, we completely understand and your child(ren) will receive an excused absence. Lunch on Wednesday will be pizza and subs. Lunch orders from this past Monday will be used for Wednesday. Additional orders will be gladly accepted. Mrs. Teta, our cafeteria manager, will update you on credits for missed lunches shortly later this week. The HSA Annual Spaghetti Night is cancelled for this Wednesday. A new date will be announced shortly.

This is an update on diocesan entities and a reminder about the diocesan policy to re-open or close our Catholic schools & other diocesan properties.

 

Closings and Cancellations

Schools (Updated)

  • Our schools are closed on Monday, Sept. 11.   
  • As of 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, the following diocesan schools have announced they will be closed on Tuesday. Again, we emphasize to check with your individual school regarding re-opening or closures.
    John Carroll High School – Ft. Pierce
    St. Anastasia School – Ft. Pierce
    St. Helen School- Vero Beach
    St. Clare School –North Palm Beach
    Holy Cross Preschool and Center – WPB
    St. Ann School – WPB
    Rosarian School – WPB
    St. Juliana School - WPB

  • The process and decision to re-open schools is coordinated by the local pastor, school president and/or principal. Schools will use social media and their other inter-communication tools to post announcements. The campus and parish properties will be assessed to ensure the safety and security of students when they return to school. Individual schools will determine when their particular campuses can re-open. Please view our press release about closing & re-opening our schools.

 

Pastoral Center (updated)

  • All Pastoral Center Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, September 11 and Tuesday, September 12.  The Diocese of Palm Beach in Palm Beach Gardens will reassess on Tuesday.

 

Catholic Charities Offices (updated)

  • All Catholic Charities offices will be closed on Monday, September 11 and Tuesday, September 12. Catholic Charities will reassess on Tuesday.  Please check the Catholic Charities website for future announcements of re-opening or closings of each of our office locations as each location will be assessed.

 

Churches and Missions 

  • It is up to each of our 53 parishes and missions to determine their own cancellations. Parish members should contact their parish offices for more information. All of our faith community is advised to follow the instructions of our local authorities when it comes to personal safety, traveling, and attended Mass or church activities. While parishes may remain open, the faithful are always advised to exercise prudence and caution.
