Natural Family Planning (NFP) Awareness Week is an annual national educational campaign by the U.S. bishops to celebrate God's design for married love and the gift of life, and to raise awareness of NFP methods. Our diocese joins others nationwide in celebrating this special week. This year’s theme is “Generations of Love – Celebrate God’s Gift of Married Love!”
NFP Awareness Week highlights the anniversary of the Papal Encyclical Humanae Vitae which this year marks the 50th anniversary of Blessed Paul VI’s encyclical (July 25, 1968-2018). It articulates Catholic beliefs on human sexuality, conjugal love and responsible parenthood. The dates also mark the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne (July 26), the parents of the Blessed Mother.
