The Diocese of Palm Beach will hold its Annual Blue Mass to honor police, law enforcement, fire, other emergency and safety officials, as well as those who have fallen in the line of duty. The Mass is open to all active and retired law enforcement, safety officers and personnel from different local municipalities, federal, state and local jurisdictions within the five counties of the diocese. Those of all faiths are invited to attend. Families and those in the community who support these officers, fire and emergency officials are also invited.
The Mass is called a Blue Mass in recognition of the uniform officers wear. The Mass will begin with a procession of those who are being honored.
Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach, will be the Celebrant. Following the Mass, refreshments will be served in the parish hall for all of those in attendance.
The Blue Mass is coordinated annually between the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Diocese of Palm Beach. For more information please contact the Diocese of Palm Beach, 561-775-9561.
